I'm waiting for you homework (⊙︿⊙✿)
There's actually 3
the kanas (hiragana and katakana)
Kanji is borrowed from traditional Chinese characters and is based on meaning and or image of meaning.
hiragana was developed to make it easier for people to learn how to read, write, etc. It is used for Japanese particles, and used as readings for Japanese words.
Katakana is used for foreign or borrowed words..
Kanji has it's advantages but it will seem intimidating at first, as there are many many of them. Hiragana and katakana are phonetic, so they are based on sound and as such, there is a limited number. Once you learn hiragana and katakana , you have opened a huge door into the world of Japanese.
