BurceNur what was the title of the movie u watched nur?
About praising others, ofcourse Islam have ruled every little things in our live. Even when giving a praise. In one hadits, one day Rasulullah heard a man who praising his friend, then Rasulullah said, "may Allah‘s mercy be upon you! you have cut the neck of your friend." on another hadits Rasulullah said to throw a dirt/sand to a people who give a praise. pls looking for the hadits on net to be more accurate
Those hadits-es means praise can be so much harm to one who have done a good deed. A good deed will ruin if the intention is not for Allah, so one of the door to go that corrupt intention is praise from others.
I think it is okay to giving a praise, as long as that praise not overacting that can make the intention of the doers go astray. Like when Rasulullah praised some shahabah because theirs excellence in something. So be careful when give a praise.
So what the meaning of giving a praise? If we giving a friend a compliment or a praise, we hope for him to do that good deeds continously. If we are a teacher giving a praise to our student we hope it can motivated another students. The point is to encourage him/she or others to do the good deeds too.
